It’s been a busy day with college athletes all over the country announcing new endorsement deals, but Michigan State kicker Matt Coghlin has the tweet-of-the-day so far.

Coghlin sent out this matter-of-fact note about the LockedOn Spartans podcast earlier Thursday morning:

That might not be a glowing recommendation, but it’s certainly garnering attention — which was obviously the ultimate goal.

The sixth-year kicker followed that endorsement up with this, soliciting more paid advertisements:

Coghlin has been Michigan State’s primary kicker for the last four seasons. In his career, he’s made 64 field goals and 107 extra points. He also scored a touchdown in 2018.

He’s able to return to school for a sixth season of eligibility due to the pandemic. The NCAA granted a blanket waiver for all college football players for the 2020 season.

Beginning July 1, all college athletes are able to profit from their name, image and likeness.
