Andrew Brinson IV was committed to play for Jonathan Smith at Oregon State. With Smith leaving OSU for Michigan State, Brinson has decided to change his commitment.

Brinson, an ATH prospect out of Florida, announced Sunday that he is now verbally pledged to the Spartans ahead of the Early Signing Period. He decommitted from OSU in November.

A standout of Tampa (Florida) Gaither, Brinson is listed as measuring over 6-feet and 175 pounds. On the 247Sports Composite, Brinson is rated 3-stars, the No. 90 ATH, No. 137 recruit in the state of Florida and No. 1,015 prospect overall in the Class of 2024.

The ATH label is used for multi-position prospects. At both Oregon State and Michigan State, Brinson was recruited by Blue Adams, who coaches defensive backs on Smith’s staff.

Brinson picked up scholarship offers from 26 programs during his recruitment. UCF, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Indiana, NC State, Purdue, Utah and Wisconsin are among the other programs that expressed interest.
