Jonathan Smith’s Michigan State staff continues to work the transfer portal to shape the 2024 Spartan roster. MSU picked another significant commitment on Tuesday with a standout transfer from the ACC.

D’Quan Douse is headed to East Lansing to use his final season of eligibility. The Georgia Tech transfer made the announcement on Tuesday via social media.

Douse entered the transfer portal after five seasons in Atlanta, playing in 44 games with 24 starts. He redshirted in 2019 and is using his COVID-19 waiver for 2020 to play a sixth season in 2024.

After two seasons contributing primarily in a reserve role, Douse started all 12 games of 2022, his breakout season. Douse had 26 tackles, including career highs in TFLs (5.5) and sacks (3.5), in the 2022 campaign.

This past season, Douse appeared in all 13 games, making 10 starts. He posted career highs of 35 total tackles with 17 solo stops. He added 3 TFLs, 2 sacks and 1 forced fumble to his career numbers. Douse’s Georgia Tech bio says he was ranked No. 4 among all interior defenders by Pro Football Focus.
