Michigan State has officially received its first verbal pledge of the 2020 recruiting class.

Saturday morning, three-star offensive lineman Dallas Fincher gave committed Michigan State, making the announcement via Twitter. He becomes the first prospect to pledge to the Spartan’s 2020 class.

“I have decided to stay home and continue my academic and football career at Michigan State University,” Fincher wrote.

Fincher is the son of Mark Fincher, who was an offensive tackle for the Spartans under George Perles from 1983-1986.

A 6-foot-4, 275-pound lineman, Fincher is rated as a three-star prospect, per 247Sports. He’s ranked as the No. 17 guard in the class and the 19th-best player out of Michigan. The Grand Rapids native is just outside the top 500 recruits in the 2020 cycle.

In addition to Michigan State, Fincher held offers from Iowa, Ohio State, Michigan, Minnesota, Indiana and Purdue out of the B1G. He held 22 total offers.

Fincher visited East Lansing earlier this week before making his decision.
