Former Purdue receiver Maliq Carr is headed to Michigan State.

He announced that decision on his Instagram story on Friday morning. Here’s a screenshot:

Carr was a 4-star prospect for the Boilermakers in the class of 2020. He caught just one pass as a true freshman, totaling 15 yards.

According to 247Sports Composite rankings, Carr was the No. 175 player in the entire country for the class of 2020.

He’s an Oak Park, Michigan, native so moving back closer to home makes a lot of sense. He’s currently listed at 6-foot-4, 230 pounds.

Because of the pandemic, Carr will still have four years of eligibility remaining with the Spartans.

Carr is the 12th transfer Michigan State has picked up this offseason, according to 247Sports. Of those 12, he’s the second transfer who was rated as a 4-star recruit coming out of high school according to the Composite.

The Spartans are coming off a 2-5 campaign in 2020.
