Michigan State added an important transfer for its 2023 roster on Friday afternoon.

Alante Brown, who previously played for Nebraska, will suit up for the Spartans this fall.

Here’s Brown’s announcement:

Brown started 10 games for the Huskers last season, which was his sophomore year in Lincoln. He finished the season with a career-high 16 catches for 191 yards.

Brown was originally a member of the 2019 high school recruiting class. He spent 3 years with Nebraska before opting to enter the portal. Prior to arriving at Nebraska, he spent 1 year at St. Thomas Moore Prep in Connecticut.

He also has experience as a kick returner. He returned 16 kickoffs for 284 yards over the course of his 3 years with Nebraska.

Michigan State has now added 14 transfers so far this offseason. That group includes 3 tight ends, but Brown is the first receiver to join the Spartans’ transfer class.

Michigan State’s offense has been looking for receiver help following Keon Coleman’s transfer to Florida State. Coleman went for 848 yards last season with the Spartans.
