Michigan State makes hiring of new RBs coach official
It’s official, Michigan State has a new running backs coach.
Effrem Reed has officially been announced as the next running backs coach for the Spartans. He will replace William Peagler, who was hired to be an assistant on Billy Napier’s staff at Florida.
Reed joined Mel Tucker’s staff at Michigan State in 2020 as an offensive analyst. He had previously spent time at Louisiana as a graduate assistant, working mostly on the defensive side of the football.

Reed had initially taken a job at Georgia Southern as the running backs coach following the 2021 season. However, with the vacancy in East Lansing he decided to rejoin Tucker’s staff for the 2022 campaign.
Michigan State ended the 2021 season with an 11-2 record, which included a win over Pitt in the Peach Bowl.
