What a year it’s been for Kenneth Walker III.

The Michigan State running back has thrown his name into the Heisman Trophy race, and is now up for another award with just a few weeks left in the regular season.

Michigan State announced that Walker is a semifinalist for the Walter Camp Award. The award is given to the best college American football player every year.

The Spartans posted the news via Twitter Thursday afternoon.

Walker is leading the Spartans on the ground with 1,330 yards rushing and 15 touchdowns, which is the most in the country. He’ll need to continue the form he’s in if he wants to bring the Heisman and Walter Camp Trophy back to East Lansing.

The Spartans will be looking to rebound after losing to Purdue the week before. No.7 Michigan State (8-1) and Maryland (5-4) square off Saturday on Fox at 4 p.m. ET.
