Several members of Michigan State’s football team have signed up to help Houston with Hurricane Harvey relief.

With the help of Lansing mayor Virg Bernero, the Spartans will send several players to Texas to help with relief efforts, according to the Lansing State Journal. The players will help with unloading and distributing donated goods and other charitable assistance.

Sending Michigan State football players to help with relief is part of Bernero’s #LansingStrong4TX campaign that will provide assistance for those affected by the Hurricane and flooding. The goal of that campaign is to raise at least $10,000, as well as provide other essential items for those in need.

According to the Lansing State Journal, about 20 Spartans have volunteered to help with the effort. They will head to Texas during Michigan State’s off week, which comes after the Week 2 bout against Western Michigan this Saturday.
