Michigan State president ‘pleased with direction’ of program, says Mark Dantonio is ‘the right person’

Michigan State made a bowl game this season. It went 6-6 overall and 4-5 in Big Ten play.

For some football programs, that works. That would be celebrated. At Michigan State? There’s no celebrating going on.

Many have wanted to see Mark Dantonio get out of East Lansing. That’s what’s all over social media from Michigan State fans, at least.

But it has been pointed out before that there is trust from Dantonio from the higher-ups at Michigan State. And on Friday, before the team’s bowl game against Wake Forest, here’s what Michigan State president Samuel Stanley had to say:

Stanley obviously believes in Dantonio to run the program. He has shown success before. And while the program may be in a downward spiral the past couple years, that doesn’t mean that Dantonio all of a sudden isn’t the right person for the job.

That’s the thinking from Stanley. Will all Spartan fans agree?

Probably not.
