Donovan Eaglin has decided to start exploring his options outside of East Lansing.

Colton Pouncey of The Athletic reported on Monday that the Michigan State running back has entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal. The news comes just a few days after the Spartans put a bow on the spring practice schedule by hosting a live practice and scrimmage in front of fans Saturday.

Eaglin spent two seasons with the Spartans before hitting the transfer portal. He played in all 13 games at Michigan State last fall, primarily seeing action on special teams.

In 2021, Eaglin rushed for 33 yards on 6 carries. He saw a total of 74 snaps on special teams, as well. He will have three years of eligibility to use at his next destination.

Eaglin is a Texas native and was a 3-star member of Michigan State’s 2020 recruiting class. He was ranked as one of the Top 300 prospects out of the talent-rich state and was listed as the No. 117 running back, per 247Sports.

Michigan State finished last season with an 11-2 record. Head coach Mel Tucker will be entering his third season leading the program in 2022.
