Mel Tucker continues to dip into the southeast for Michigan State on the recruiting trail, this time grabbing a commitment from a prospect out of Knoxville.

The player is Shannon Blair, a three-star athlete out of Tennessee for the class of 2022:

“First and foremost, I would like to give all the glory to God for without him none of this would have been possible,” wrote Blair on Twitter. “I thank all the coaches who have invested time in recruiting me. This decision has been one of the hardest and most rewarding to make. With that being said, I would like to announce my commitment to Michigan State University!”

Blair is rated as the No. 32 overall prospect regardless of position out of Tennessee for the cycle by the 247 Sports Composite Rankings. Listed at 6-foot-1 and 170 lbs., Blair has seen action as a wide receiver, defensive back, and return man.
Blair becomes the 11th total commitment for Michigan State’s 2022 class, and he is the fifth to pledge the Spartans out of the southeast. The Spartans currently have three commitments out of Georgia and another out of Florida for the cycle.
