No. 12 Michigan State has a big rivalry game in the snow today against Penn State. The Spartans and the Nittany Lions play for the Land Grant Trophy in the last game of the year every season.

There are quite a few Spartans who are not in uniform ahead of today’s game against the Nittany Lions.

The only new starter that is out is TE Tyler Hunt; most key players for today’s game are playing.

Chris Solari of the Detroit Free Press provides more context on the situation:

No. 12 Michigan State has a chance to get to 10 wins for the first time since 2017 in only HC Mel Tucker’s 2nd season.

The Spartans will have a chance at a New Year’s Six bowl game with a win against the Nittany Lions Saturday.

No. 12 Michigan State and Penn State kick it off at 3:30 ET on Saturday afternoon from Snowy East Lansing.
