It was the news no head coach wanted to deliver.

On Tuesday afternoon, coaches across the B1G were forced to tell their players that the conference made the decision to cancel football in the fall. Michigan State’s athletic department captured that moment on video.

Mel Tucker, who has spent little face-to-face time around his team since taking over as head coach in February, told his team on Tuesday that the B1G postponed the fall season and will look to play football in the spring. It was a tough moment for everyone involved.

Players sat down in front of a camera, promising that they will be back and ready for when the season picks up again, whether that’s spring or fall 2021.
