A Michigan State staffer has landed a job as an on-field assistant with an FCS program.

Dalmin Gibson, an analyst for the Spartans during the past two seasons, will be the defensive end coach and special teams coordinator at Southern Illinois. His primary role while in East Lansing was as a special teams analyst.

SpartanTailgate.com reported the news on Friday afternoon. Gibson also had a hand in the defense.

Prior to working at Michigan State, Gibson was also on Mel Tucker’s staff at Colorado as a graduate assistant. He was with the Buffaloes before Tucker’s arrival, starting in Boulder in 2017.

Michigan State is coming off an 11-2 season in 2021, Tucker’s second year with the program.
