One of the most sought-after offensive prospects in the Class of 2022 will not sign Wednesday and has not yet made a final decision on where he’ll play his college ball.

Kiyaunta Goodwin is verbally committed to Kentucky but Michigan State is firmly in the mix as Goodwin is down to just 2 schools. And though the Indiana native traveled south to a signing event in Texas for the day, he is not yet ready to sign with anyone.

Goodwin is the 25th overall prospect in the 2022 class, per the 247 Composite. He’s the top-ranked prospect in his state and the No. 4 tackle prospect in the country. The Charlestown product holds more than 20 offers from all over the country; from Alabama and Clemson and Ohio State and Oregon and most of the other power players in the sport.

He committed to Kentucky in April of this year, but coach Mel Tucker and the Spartans have been hot on the Wildcats’ heels. Goodwin officially visited with the Spartans on Dec. 10, more than a month after he took an official to Kentucky.

Goodwin is a physical marvel. He’s 6-foot-8 and 340 pounds. If he were to pick the Spartans, he’d be the 3rd-highest-rated prospect by 247Sports to sign with MSU since the service began.
