Michigan State unveils incredible hype video for season-opening road trip to Northwestern
It is just about time for Year 2 under Mel Tucker, and Michigan State is getting ready for its season opener on the road against Northwestern!
The 2020 season was a wild one across the board, but it was especially wild for the Spartans and Tucker. Taking over just prior to the pandemic striking, Tucker was severely limited in his work and preparation during his first offseason in East Lansing.
Despite the crazy offseason, Tucker was still able to guide the team to upset wins over Michigan and Northwestern. Still, Tucker is not looking for a mulligan for last year’s losses, and he knows it is important to get off to a strong start in Friday’s season opener.
For that contest, the Spartans will face Pat Fitzgerald and a Wildcats team replacing a number of key pieces from last season’s B1G West Championship team. Still, Fitzgerald’s teams are traditionally tough and disciplined and are a tough out at home.

Friday’s kickoff is set for 9 pm EST on ESPN.
