On Monday, Michigan State officially unveiled the Spartan Players of the Week following their massive upset over No. 8 Northwestern. It was Northwestern’s first loss of the season as well and got the Spartans to 2-3 on the season.
On offense, one of the players that was recognized was Connor Heyward. He had 24 rushes for 96 yards and a touchdown in the win. Wide receiver Jalen Nailor also got one of those honors as he had three receptions for 99 yards and a touchdown.
On defense, Antjuan Simmons was named a player of the week as he had 13 tackles, one sack, and two tackles for loss. Shakur Brown also got one as he had two interceptions in the game and two tackles.
Finally, on special teams, Chase Kline got the honor as the Player of the Week as he had eight tackles in the win.

Michigan State will now prepare to face Ohio State this weekend as the Buckeyes look to get past their COVID-19 issues and return to action.
