Michigan State lost a player to the transfer portal on Monday according to a report from Rainer Sabin of the Detroit Free Press.

Ricky White is reportedly leaving the team after appearing in just 3 games in 2020 for the Spartans. In those 3 games, White had 10 receptions for 223 yards receiving with 1 touchdown.

Sabin put out the report from his Twitter account on Monday afternoon.

While White didn’t have an impact on the field this season for Michigan State, he had a breakout performance in the Week 2 upset win over Michigan in 2020. White brought in 8 receptions for 196 yards receiving yards and 1 touchdown.

According to Chris Solari of the Detroit Free Press, Mel Tucker stated that White didn’t participate in the preseason camp and that there wasn’t any change after that.

White is listed as a redshirt freshman on Michigan State’s online roster. It’ll be interesting to see where he ends up after what was looking like a promising start to his college football career.
