Michigan State has had an up-and-down season in 2018.
There have been certainly a few impressive performances and some that can be forgotten. Part of the reason for this is the inconsistency from a roster standpoint — and not from production.
Injuries have crushed the Spartans all season long and last weekend against Michigan was no different. Felton Davis, a key WR for Michigan State, suffered a torn Achilles in the 21-7 loss to the Wolverines.
To that point, Davis led the team in receptions (31), yards (474) and TDs (4). Davis had to have surgery on his Achilles and on Saturday, tweeted how it went:
Surgery went great .. the road back starts now 💚Thank you for all the get well wishes and messages . I read every one 🤞🏾 Spartan for life .

It’s good to hear that Davis’ surgery went well of course. The senior pass-catcher is just one of many Spartans missing Saturday’s game against Purdue. Quarterback Brian Lewerke is just another name on a long list that’s not starting.
