Jayden Reed wasn’t just going to sit back and let a Michigan staffer mock the Spartans. The Michigan State wide receiver had to say something back.

This weekend, Michigan State’s draft streak ended at 80 years after no players were selected in this year’s NFL Draft. Michigan, on the other hand, is now up to 83 consecutive drafts with a player picked after seeing eight former Wolverines taken this year.

After the draft ended and with MSU’s streak staff, Michigan defensive assistant Ryan Osborn trolled the Spartans with a tweet that read, “You hate to see it…#GoBlue.”

Reed didn’t let that slide. The Michigan State wide receiver added his own comment to Osborn’s tweet, simply saying “Bet…”

There’s plenty of fuel added to the fire for next year’s in-state rivalry game between the two schools.

It was interesting that Osborn made a comment after the Spartans defeated the Wolverines in Ann Arbor 27-24 during the Week 2 meeting. Fans were quick to point that out after the tweet was sent.

Reed was the Spartans’ second-leading receiver last season, totaling 407 yards and 3 touchdowns on 33 catches. Against Michigan, he had just 1 reception for 18 yards.

You can bet he’ll be looking to have a big game when the two teams face off this fall.
