Spartans wide receiver Jayden Reed has done something that no other B1G receiver has done since 2003.

Reed is the first receiver to have 2 touchdown receptions of 75 yards or more in a game since that year.

Reed had both scores before halftime in the 1st half as the Spartans are playing Youngstown State. In the game thus far, he has 2 receptions for 160 yards, plus those 2 touchdowns.

In the Spartans’ first game of the year against Northwestern, Reed finished with 5 receptions for 64 yards. His longest catch went for 23 yards.

Reed is coming off a 2020 season where he finished with 33 catches for 407 yards and 3 touchdowns. It’s the 2nd best season of his collegiate career behind 2018. During that season, Reed finished with nearly 800 yards receiving on 56 catches with 8 touchdowns.

The Spartans were up 35-7 at halftime and are currently up by 21 as Youngtown State got a touchdown in the 3rd quarter. You can catch the rest of the game on the Big Ten Network.
