One of Michigan State’s wide receivers is electing to enter the transfer portal. Redshirt freshman Ian Stewart announced the news on his Twitter account.

“First I would like to thank Coach Dantonio and Coach Tucker for giving me an opportunity of a lifetime to play at Michigan State. I would also like to thank coach Hawkins for developing me not only as a player but as a man. I will forever be grateful for that…” Steward said. “I will forever be grateful for the relationships I have built at Michigan State and look forward to this next chapter  of my life.”

Stewart played in 2 games this season and caught 1 pass for 8 yards vs. Youngstown State. He was a 3-star prospect coming out of high school.

Michigan State has a 10-2 overall record and finished third place in the B1G East. The Spartans will face Pittsburgh in the Peach Bowl on Dec. 30.
