Michigan State WR Tre'Von Morgan records impressive TD in double coverage for first career catch
Tre’Von Morgan picked a perfect moment to come up with his first career reception.
The 6-foot-7 redshirt freshman has not had many opportunities to this point. But playing against Penn State, Morgan was able to hook up with Payton Thorne for a crucial connection.
It came on a sort of misdirection play-action in the backfield that took a while to develop. The misdirection did not fool the defense as Morgan was still tracked in double coverage, but Thorne threw it in his direction anyway.
It is a good thing he did as Morgan went up and over both defenders and was able to pull it down in time for the touchdown and his first career reception:

The touchdown was Thorne’s second of the day after he connected with Jalen Nailor for his first career passing touchdown early on.
