Another Michigan State season opener will be played on a Friday night.
The Spartans will open the 2019 campaign on Friday, Aug. 30 against Tulsa in East Lansing. The game had previously been scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 31. Michigan State made the announcement on Thursday afternoon.
Broadcast information and kickoff time have not yet been released.
Michigan State has opened its season on a Friday night in seven of the last eight years, with 2017 being the exception. Last year, the Spartans began the season on a Saturday against Bowling Green.
This season Michigan State opened with Utah State on a Friday night in Spartan Stadium.
All of Michigan State’s 2019 nonconference games will be played at home. After starting the season with Tulsa, the Spartans will host Western Michigan (Sept. 7) and Arizona State (Sept. 14) before starting B1G play.
The Aug. 30 matchup between Michigan State and Tulsa will be the first meeting between the two schools.
