Michigan State forward Joey Hauser has decided to return to East Lansing for one more season.

Wednesday, Hauser announced via Twitter that he’ll be suiting up for the Spartans for the 2022-23 season. It will provide Tom Izzo’s squad with experience and leadership on the floor heading into next year.

“After talking with my family and to coach Izzo and the staff, I’ve decided that I’m going to be back with my teammates on the court next year,” Hauser wrote on Twitter.

Hauser’s decision comes just a day after big man Julius Marble II announced he would be entering his name into the NCAA transfer portal. Gabe Brown and Marcus Bingham Jr. have decided to enter the NBA Draft.

Max Christie has also entered the NBA Draft but is maintaining his college eligibility for the time being.

Last season, Hauser averaged 7.3 points and 5.3 rebounds per contest for the Spartans. He also shot better than 40% from behind the 3-point line.

Michigan State ended the year with a 23-13 record and an 11-9 mark in the B1G. The Spartans reached the Round of 32 in the NCAA Tournament.
