Michigan State's Kenneth Walker III earns national honor after monster game vs. Northwestern
Michigan State running back Kenneth Walker III burst on the national scene after his outstanding Week 1 performance at Northwestern.
For his efforts, Walker III is the Maxwell Award Player of the Week.

Walker III amassed 264 yards, four touchdowns, and 11.5 yards per carry.
Walker III arrived at Michigan State from Wake Forest. On the first play of the game, Walker III burst free for a 75-yard touchdown. Walker III added another three-yard touchdown in the first quarter, as well as a five-yard touchdown in the third quarter, and a six-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Walker III is effusive in his praise for the role of the offensive line.
“I give credit to the offensive line. … It starts off with our O line and they did a great job tonight, an excellent job,” Walker III said via MLive.com.
