Until this week, Michigan State hasn’t had much to celebrate this season. That has changed over the past three games, with the Spartans re-emerging as NCAA tournament contenders with recent wins over Indiana, No. 5 Illinois and No. 4 Ohio State.

The Spartans made program history Thursday night, beating the 4th-ranked Buckeyes 71-67 in East Lansing, marking the first time Michigan State has ever defeated Top 5 teams in back-to-back games. Tom Izzo’s team took down the Fighting Illini 81-72 on Tuesday.

After overcoming a 9-point deficit to Ohio State and winning their third-straight game, the Spartans had plenty to celebrate Thursday night. They didn’t hold back with their locker room celebration, either. Here’s the clip from an ecstatic atmosphere:

There’s plenty to be excited about in East Lansing considering Michigan State was just 10-9 a week ago and 4-9 in B1G play. Now, the Spartans are back in the tournament conversations with games against Maryland, Indiana and a home-and-home versus No. 3 Michigan left on the slate.

Michigan State has an opportunity to solidify its spot in the NCAA tournament with a few more wins.
