Mark Dantonio has finally done it!

After a convincing win over Northwestern in Michigan State’s B1G opener, Dantonio has officially become the winningest coach in school history. The Spartans had a chance to secure the record in Week 3, but a disappointing loss to Arizona State prevented that from happening.

Week 4 was a completely different story. The Spartans started slow but came alive towards the end of the first half. Then a dominant showing in the second half left little doubt of the final outcome.

The win gives Dantonio 110 for his Michigan State career. That eclipses the previous record of 109 held by legendary coach Duffy Daugherty.

It hasn’t always been an easy journey for Dantonio, but he is now a Spartans legend in his own right. Congratulations, coach!
