Montorie Foster Jr. revealed a major decision for Michigan State Thursday evening.

After playing sparingly his first three seasons in the program, Foster jumped into a key role for the Spartans in 2023. He went on to lead the team with 43 catches for 576 yards and tied for the team lead with 3 receiving touchdowns.

Now, the veteran wide receiver from the 2020 recruiting class confirmed he will be back for Jonathan Smith’s first season in East Lansing. Foster will look to team up with former Oregon State quarterback Aidan Chiles.

Prior to this season, Foster had just 19 catches and 2 touchdowns. He made the most of the tumultuous 2023 season and developed into a go-to target for the Spartans.

Facing Nebraska, Foster came up with a big-time touchdown catch that would prove crucial in the win. He also delivered one of the plays of the year with a spinning one-handed touchdown grab vs. Indiana.

Any time a new head coach takes over, there is bound to be a certain amount of roster turnover and departures. However, keeping Foster in the program gives Smith a nice piece in the receiving game heading into his first season with the Spartans.
