Michigan State is planning on having more precautions in place for the football team Saturday, AD Bill Beekman announced Saturday morning.

During his pre-game show, Beekman admitted there is a bit of a scare due to the rising COVID-19 numbers. Among those numbers was a positive test to head basketball coach Tom Izzo, something that Beekman admitted has confused the administration. According to Beekman, he has consistently seen Izzo wear a mask for the past six months.

One change for the football team on Saturday is that those players not active will not be in the stands when the Spartans take on the Hoosiers. Inactive players were allowed to watch the Rutgers game from the stands in Week 1, but that will not be the case this weekend.

Chris Solari with the Detroit Free Press shared Beekman’s comments:

Kickoff between the Spartans and Hoosiers is set for 12 pm EST on ABC.
