Payton Thorne against Miami was 18-31 for a 58% completion rate, throwing for 261 yards and 4 touchdowns in a 38-17 win at Miami.
Thorne had high praise from one of the greatest Spartans and basketball players of all time Magic Johnson.

Thorne has played lights out; he is 48-77 for a 62.3% completion rate, throwing for 726 yards, 9 touchdowns, and 0 interceptions.
The Spartans are off to a surprising start in Mel Tucker’s second season at the helm. They are 3-0 and have wins over Northwestern, Youngstown State and Miami.
The win last week against Miami vaulted the Spartans into the Week 4 edition of the AP Poll they come in at No.20.
The Spartans still have a tall task to climb back to the top of the B1G East as Penn State, Michigan and Ohio State are all ranked in the AP Top-25, and Penn State and Ohio State are in the top 10.
Michigan State plays Nebraska at home this Saturday at 7:00 ET on FS1.
