Michigan State announces schedule changes for 2017
Michigan State is changing things up.
The Spartans shifted the first three weeks of their 2017 season. Instead of playing Bowling Green on Sept. 9 and Western Michigan on Sept. 16, both of those dates are now moved up.
MSU will host Bowling Green on Saturday, Sept. 2 and host Western Michigan on Saturday, Sept. 9. That move shifts the bye week to Sept. 16.
Here’s what the updated 2017 schedule looks like:
Sept. 2: BOWLING GREEN
Sept. 9: WESTERN MICHIGAN
Sept. 16: Bye
Sept. 23: NOTRE DAME
Sept. 30: IOWA
Oct. 7: at Michigan
Oct. 14: at Minnesota
Oct. 21: INDIANA (Homecoming)
Oct. 27: at Northwestern
Nov. 4: PENN STATE
Nov. 11: at Ohio State
Nov. 18: MARYLAND
Nov. 25: at Rutgers
MSU previously didn’t have a game scheduled opening weekend of the 2017 season. Bowling Green accommodated the Spartans by moving back a game against South Dakota.
It’ll end MSU’s streak of six straight years of opening on a Friday night. The Spartans will play in a Friday night game on Oct. 27 when they travel to Northwestern.
