PHOTO: Michigan fans deface famous Michigan State statue
Ah, rivalry week. The time when states, stadiums and households are divided.
Michigan and Michigan State know about that all too well.
On Thursday morning, Michigan State fans woke up to a nice little reminder from their friends in Ann Arbor.

Michigan State legend Magic Johnson was defaced with maize spray paint with an ‘M’ on his jersey and the words ‘Beat State’ on the base of the statue.
It’s not the first time the Victors pulled off a statue defacing at Michigan State this year. In just the second week of the season, the Sparty statue was spray painted in similar fashion with a maize ‘M.’
The annual tradition is a two-sided affair. Last year, Michigan State fans painted the Block M on Michigan’s campus green and added ‘S’ and ‘U’ in white paint after it to read, ‘MSU.’

In case you haven’t heard, No. 12 Michigan will host No. 7 Michigan State on Saturday in Ann Arbor. College GameDay will be in the house to take in the action.
Until then, let the shenanigans continue.
