For about 55 minutes, a banged up Michigan State squad again found itself playing in a one-possession game against a team it was favored to beat by three scores.

Then the last five minutes happened.

The Spartans got some style points for making Saturday’s 52-26 win against Indiana look a lot closer than it was. As a result, Michigan State moved up a spot in the Associated Press rankings to No. 6.

It marked the first time that the Spartans moved up in the poll since Week 4. With the bye week, Michigan State will enter NovemberĀ at 8-0 for the first time in the Mark Dantonio era.

B1G East foe Ohio State kept its spot at No. 1 while Iowa moved into the top 10 and Michigan came in at No. 15.

The Spartans will have a chance to get healthy during the bye week before they travel to Lincoln to take on Nebraska.
