Nathan Carter has been a monster for Michigan State during Week 2’s game against Richmond. He capped one dramatic run in impressive fashion to get this second touchdown of the game.

After breaking into the open, Carter rolled down the open field and past the second level of the defense. There was just one defender left to beat, and Carter prepared to deliver a blow.

While the defender did get low enough to tackle Carter at the legs, the running back was able to maintain his balance and went up and over toward the end zone. Officials originally ruled Carter down inside the one-yard line but the play would be reviewed.

After a video review, it was overturned into a touchdown with evidence Carter broke the plane:

Michigan State held a 17-0 lead heading into the second half and turned to Carter heavily in the third quarter. He finished with a hat trick in that period alone and is up to 19 carries for 111 yards and 3 touchdowns as the fourth quarter gets rolling.

The Spartans appear on their way to a 2-0 start under Mel Tucker with a 38-0 lead over the Spiders. Carter is also off to a flying start with Michigan State and will look to build on his early-season numbers in Week 3.
