Six B1G teams are playing Power Five opponents on Saturday, giving the conference a huge opportunity to make a national statement in Week 2.

But one Associated Press writer believes one team from the B1G will have their plans at a big-time early-season victory spoiled.

Ralph Russo has picked Arizona State to pull off the ‘upset special’ this weekend, predicting the Sun Devils to come up with a win over No. 15 Michigan State. The Spartans are a 6-point favorite heading into the contest, according to MyBookie.com.

Here was Russo’s reasoning behind the selection:

Sun Devils are 9-0 against Big Ten teams in Tempe, not including losses to Nebraska and Penn State before they were in the conference … ARIZONA STATE 34-27, UPSET SPECIAL.

Michigan State will also be battling unfamiliar weather, as temperatures are predicted to hit 107 degrees in Tempe on Saturday. Could that be an issue for the Spartans?

Michigan State and Arizona State are scheduled for a 10:50 p.m. ET kickoff on Saturday evening.
