It looks like Rocky Lombardi’s afternoon is probably over against Ohio State.

The starting quarterback for Michigan State was involved in a scary collision during the second quarter. During one hit by Ohio State, Lombardi’s head was driven into the ground and he stayed down a little while on the turf.

Fortunately, Lombardi was able to walk off the field, but he was taken directly to the locker room. No update has been provided on his status, though Payton Thorne opened the second half under center.

Hopefully Lombardi is alright and able to bounce back quickly. It was definitely a scary moment and was a good sign to see him able to walk off the field.

So far, Thorne has been impressive in relief, going 10-for-10  passing for 67 yards against the Buckeyes. Unfortunately, he has also failed to guide the offense to the end zone to this point as Ohio State is putting up a strong performance in East Lansing.
