Michigan State outlasted Wisconsin 69-63 to advance to the semifinals of the B1G tournament on Friday. Both teams struggled in the first half from the field, but the Spartans were able to turn it around in the 2nd half to secure the victory.

The Spartans’ scoring was lead by Marcus Bingham Jr. Bingham dropped in 19 points and 11 rebounds for a double-double. As a team, Michigan State shot the ball much better in the 2nd half. The Spartans finished the game with a 48% field goal percentage.

Brad Davison kept up his offensive scoring for the Badgers, putting up 23 points. Johnny Davis finished with 11 points and 10 rebounds, shooting 3-for-19. Wisconsin’s shooting percentage improved to 36% in the 2nd half of the game, but it wasn’t enough.

One of the constants throughout the entire game was how well the Spartans shot from the free-throw line. Michigan went 18-from-24, converting 75% of their free throws. The rebound battle was also won by Michigan State who had  39 rebounds to Wisconsin’s 34.

Michigan State will now play the winner of Purdue vs Penn State. The Boilermakers and Nittany Lions battle it out Friday at 9 p.m. ET on the Big Ten Network.

The Spartans next game will be on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
