Rece Davis, Stanford Steve give their picks for Michigan State-Washington
Rece Davis and Stanford Steve made their picks for the upcoming Washington-Michigan State game on this week’s version of the College GameDay Podcast.
Davis believes that with the problems surrounding Michigan State at the moment and Washington being the better team, it would be best to take Washington as a 16-point favorite.
“I talked extensively about the problems for Michigan State on Wednesday’s podcast. It’s hard to know whether that will be galvanizing or distracting. What’s easier to know is if it will matter. Michigan State is coming off of a good week from Noah Kim. Feels like one of those things that right in the vintage Sparty wheelhouse. Some big shot in there, you play points you knock them off. Michigan State’s done a good job of rushing the passer without blitzing. I’m gonna go with Michael Penix Jr., those receivers and Washington’s ability to stop Michigan State. The turmoil in East Lansing right now combined with the fact that Washington’s a vastly superior team. I’m gonna take the Huskies at 16.”
Stanford Steve is doing the same thing, but is very cautious about it.
“We mentioned Drew Allar going on the road for the first time earlier. This is another instance. I wanna see Penix go on the road with this team. We saw Steve Sarkisian and Mike Norvell and how good of play callers those guys are. They are assassins. I put Kalen DeBoer in that same category of just not taking the foot off the gas. When I look at Michigan State, they exceed my expectations on offense. I get it, it’s Central Michigan. Then Richmond’s usually a really good FCS team. I’m very weary of this, but I’m gonna go with DeBoer.”
Do you agree with their picks? Washington at Michigan State kicks off at 5 p.m. ET on Peacock.
