Report: Michigan State backup punter suffered non-contact injury, out for season
Michigan State has had loads of injuries this season.
That’s just bad luck. If your starting running back, WR, multiple players on defense and top punter go out for extended periods of time, there isn’t much you can do.
Speaking of punters, Michigan State was playing its backup punter, Tyler Hunt, a week ago. Jake Hartbarger was the starter, but he injured his leg and is out for an extended period of time.
Hunt was playing well, and had a highlight a week ago of when he made a one-handed catch and turned it into a 60-yard punt.
Unfortunately according to a report, Hunt may be out for the season thanks to a non-contact injury suffered in practice:
I’m also hearing that MSU punter Tyler Hunt was injured in practice -non-contact injury – and is out for the season. He’d been really good of late filling in for Jake Hartbarger, who’s also done for the year.

Michigan State is already without a handful — to say the least — of starters going against Purdue on Saturday. If Hunt is out, it only makes the Spartans that much more short-handed.
