A Dayton, Ohio native, Coleman played at Georgia Tech, leaving the school as the Yellow Jackets’ all-time sack leader with 28 over 3 years. The Miami Dolphins selected Coleman with the No. 12 overall pick in the 1992 NFL Draft. Coleman played in the NFL until 2005, spending time with San Diego, Washington, Jacksonville, Philadelphia and Denver after 4 seasons in Miami.
Coleman, 52, got into coaching in 2018, joining Jon Gruden’s Raiders staff. In 2019, he returned to his alma mater as Georgia Tech’s outside linebackers and defensive line coach.
Coleman would be replacing Ron Burton, who resigned to “pursue other career opportunities.”
