Michigan State finished in third place in the 2016 Battle 4 Atlantis. The Spartans defeated St. John’s 73-62 in the opening round. In the semifinals, MSU dropped a 73-58 contest to Baylor before defeating Wichita State 77-72 in the third-place game.
The Battle 4 Atlantis began during the 2011 season and two B1G teams have won the tournament. Wisconsin claimed the title in 2014 while Michigan was the winner of last year’s event.
