New Michigan State head coach Mel Tucker is working hard to make a big first hire to his staff in East Lansing. According to a report from Kentucky Sports Radio, Kentucky’s Vince Marrow is a top priority.
Marrow is known to be an excellent recruiter and has a close relationship with Tucker, according to Kentucky Sports Radio. He’s been at Kentucky since 2012. He’s been on the sidelines as a coach since 2006.
According to Justin Rowland of Rivals, a decision from Marrow is expected to come within the next 48 hours. Michigan State is also reportedly expected to offer Marrow a large chunk of change to bring him to East Lansing, potentially around the $1 million mark.
With spring football coming up, Tucker will have to work quickly to assemble his staff.
Tucker will come to East Lansing after spending one season as the head coach at Colorado. He finished that season with a 5-7 record.
