Report: Michigan State potentially without handful of starters for season finale vs. Penn State
Michigan State is looking to end the year on a high note and stay in the conversation for a New Year’s Six Bowl, but the Spartans may be severely shorthanded for the game.
According to reporter Brett McMurphy with The Action Network, Michigan State is dealing with an outbreak of a flu-type illness within the program, along with a rash of injuries. The total number of Spartans held out for Saturday’s game could reach 20, and somewhere between 6-8 starters could be unable to go.

The Spartans fell to 9-2 and were eliminated from the B1G East race with the loss to Ohio State. However, Michigan State still has a chance to secure the first 10-win season for the program since 2017 and the first since Mel Tucker took over.
Now, Tucker just has to find out how many players he’ll have to work with on Saturday.
