This week, former Michigan State doctor Larry Nassar (also a USA Gymnastics doctor) has had to sit and listen to more than 150 women give victim impact statements to the court ahead of his sentencing for sexual abuse and misconduct.

Afterward, he was sentenced to up to 175 years in prison for his crimes, but questions still remain about those who knew what he was doing and did nothing to stop it.

According to StateNews.com, Michigan State president Lou Anna K. Simon is going to resign her post amid the scandal:

MSU President Lou Anna K. Simon will resign before the week is over, The State News has learned.

According to a knowledgable source to whom we have granted anonymity because the information was told in confidence, Simon’s resignation is expected to come in the next few days, namely Friday, potentially sooner.

It’s likely that Simon won’t be the only change made at Michigan State, and there will likely be major changes coming at USA Gymnastics.

Now, Nassar is behind bars and Michigan State will make a change at the top leadership position within the university.
