Report: Michigan State's Gabe Brown makes decision on NBA Draft
Gabe Brown’s Michigan State career is coming to an end.
On Saturday morning, the Detroit Free Press reported that Brown will not be using his additional year of eligibility. The Spartans star has signed with Parlay Sports agents Steve Haney and Pedro Power, according to the report.
Brown will now focus on the NBA Draft and his professional career. He could’ve returned to East Lansing for one more season, but opted against it.
Brown was the leading scorer for the Spartans this season, averaging 11.6 points per game and shooting 42.8% from the floor. He also registered 3.8 rebounds and 1.1 assists per contest while serving as a co-captain.
Michigan State finished the season with a 23-13 record and an 11-9 mark in B1G play. The Spartans reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament before getting bounced by Duke.
Over his 4 year career with the Spartans, Brown averaged 7.1 points and 2.9 rebounds while appearing in 124 career games. He made 57 starts, as well.
In his first 3 seasons, Brown was more of a role player on Tom Izzo’s squad. During the 2021-22 season, he emerged as the team’s top scorer, a captain and was a starter in all 36 of Michigan State’s games.
