Report: Two key Spartans out for Michigan State's matchup vs. WKU
Michigan State will be down a starter on defense and a backup on offense for Saturday night’s game against Western Kentucky.
Defensive end Drew Beesley and running back Elijah Collins were among those listed on the Spartans’ injury reporter ahead of the showdown, according to MLive.com.

Those are two big hits for Michigan State. Beesley is dealing with a leg injury he suffered in last week’s overtime victory over Nebraska, and he’s been a big part of the Spartans’ defensive attack this year with 11 tackles and a forced fumble.
Collins last played against Youngstown State in Week 1, when he had 3 carries for 32 yards, including a 20-yard touchdown. He hasn’t played since even though coach Mel Tucker said Collins was “a little sore” and added his usual line, “he’ll be ready when he’s ready.”
Michigan State and Western Kentucky are squaring off on FS1.
