Senior Bowl Executive Director praises Michigan State's transfer haul, lists Spartans to watch in 2022
Since arriving at Michigan State, Mel Tucker has put in the work to revamp the roster using whatever means necessary. That has included hitting the transfer portal time and time again to add talent and experience.
During the 2022 recruiting cycle, Michigan State added 8 players via transfer, including TE Daniel Barker (Illinois), CB Ameer Speed (Georgia), and LBs Aaron Brule (Mississippi State) and Jacoby Windmon (UNLV). That group in particular has caught the attention of Jim Nagy.
Nagy is the Executive Director of the Reese’s Senior Bowl, and he tweeted Tuesday morning that no school “crushed portal in 2021” like Tucker and his staff. Nagy went on to say the Senior Bowl has been “tracking” the quartet throughout their college careers.
One other player on the Spartan roster also on Nagy’s radar is ex-WMU receiver and current MSU playmaker Jayden Reed. According to Nagy, Reed has a shot to become a Day 2 selection during the 2023 NFL Draft.
One @MSU_Football prospect we would’ve invited to last year’s @seniorbowl had he come out as an early December grad is playmaking WR Jayden Reed. Hopefully this group can lead the Spartans to another big year under Tucker.
