Mayfield was a member of Michigan State’s 2020 recruiting class. He did not see any game action during his lone season with the program but was named the Scout Team Co-Defensive Player of the Week before the Spartans defeated No. 8 Northwestern.
A Hilliard, Ohio native, Mayfield was a 3-star member of the 2020 recruiting class. He ranked as one of the Top 75 strong-side defensive ends of the cycle.
Mayfield will have four years of eligibility remaining at his next destination.
